Saphir's glycerin-based saddle soap is a powerful, deep-cleaning leather-shampoo. We recommend using this product to remove significant dirt buildup or accumulated layers of wax polish from your shoes in preparation for polishing/conditioning. It can also be used to clean a variety of your leather goods, especially those made of rough, oily leathers, such as work boots, leather jackets, and belts.
100 ml. Made in France.
Saddle soap should be used sparingly, especially on footwear. Our method is simple: first, using a moistened dauber, lather up the soap in its tin, then remove any excess lather from the dauber by wiping it on a spare cloth or dragging it across the back into the tin; work the saddle soap into the leather with tight circular motions, exerting mild pressure. After the shoe has been fully shampooed, wipe the shoe with a clean, dry cloth and allow it to air dry. When the shoe is thoroughly dry, apply conditioner. This last step is important and should not be skipped; conditioning shoes in between applications of saddle soap and polish will restore any moisture that was removed by shampooing and prevent the leather from drying out and/or cracking.
