A part of our Epaulet Los Angeles collection, the Buttondown is our basic woven shirt. We start with a long-staple white PFD (prepare for dye) American supima oxford cloth. After the shirt is sewn, it's run through three stages of color dyeing. The result is a rich solid color tone with variations of color depth around the seams. As you wash and wear the shirt, you can expect the color to age and fade into a unique patina. Starting with a quality fabric helps the shirt maintain the sturdy feel and drape of a proper OCBD (oxford cloth button-down) while still offering the washed-down, casual style of our EPLA collection. We're confident that it will be one of the most comfortable shirts that you've ever worn. The color is a soft white.
This item is fully pre-shrunk and machine washable. Details include: compact buttondown collar, flat felled shoulder seams, single chest pocket, and dyed-to-match buttons. As with everything we make, this shirt has Epaulet's signature slim fit. These shirts run in-line with other Epaulet shirting; no size adjustment is necessary.
>Please note: the overdye process is irregular by nature. As such, small variations in the overall color of the shirt are normal, especially around seams and stitching lines.
Epaulet Los Angeles shirting is designed to be a casual counterpart to our Epaulet New York products. Made from start to finish at our workshop in Downtown LA, each piece is largely hand-made by a small team of craftspeople.
All EPLA pieces are pre-washed to remove shrinkage, so the fit that you receive will be accurate. We still recommend cold wash and hang drying for care. These fabrics are designed to age beautifully with wear, and hang drying will allow a natural fade to develop.
