Tennis Trainer Low Teak Horsehide

Sorry, this product is no longer available

The Epaulet Tennis Trainer is our modern day re-interpretation of the clean leather tennis shoes of the 1960s. We've retained the minimal look of the original design but we've upgraded all of the materials to offer a truly high-end product.

Crafted in Portugal, our trainers are the best product on the market at anything approaching this price. They'll wear in beautifully, and we believe you'll find them to be some of the most comfortable shoes that you have ever worn.

This particular pair is made up in genuine Front Quarter Horsehide. Tanned in Italy, this gorgeous and supple leather is one of the premier skins offered by Comipel - one of the finest leather houses in the world.

Front Quarter Horsehide is sourced from the most desirable and consistent section of the animal. The skins are vegetable tanned in drums for five weeks and lightly oiled. The final product has all the natural markings grain of the original skin. Made up into footwear, the trainers are extremely comfortable from the first wear - with no break-in period required. The leather is naturally water and stain resistant, and will develop a gorgeous patina with repeated wear. Please note that the grain of these skins is not corrected in any way, so you will see small scratches and pores upon close inspection. These are not defects - they are natural and true characteristics of the original skin.

An Italian-made Margom rubber sole provides great traction and a cushioned ride. The sole is cemented internally and reinforced with 360° stitching to the upper. A kidskin glove leather full liner extends throughout the interior. Both whole and half sizes are available for a precise fit.

This particular colorway matches a cognac-caramel toned upper with a matched suede heel cap and a gum-colored sole.

Epaulet Tennis Trainers run true to size. If you typically wear a 10D in dress shoes, then we recommend ordering a US10 in these. For a comparison to our dress shoes, this size would correspond to a 10D in the Alden Aberdeen last, a 9.5D in the Alden Barrie or Tru-Balance last, and a 9UK in most Carmina lasts. Many of our customers also tend to wear the same size in these as they would in a Converse Jack Purcell or Vans Authentic - which can be a useful comparison for getting fitted locally.

For European customers looking at the EU size, we also recommend purchasing your typical size.
