Our Sashiko jackets have proven to be the most popular and beloved products that we've offered in years. This incredibly strong Japanese fabric is reactive dyed and washed with natural pumice stones to yield a supremely soft garment with a gorgeous, natural patina.

For this project, we're offering both the Doyle Jacket and the EZ Pant in two new colorways. Raisin is a rich medium brown with a touch of bordeaux, and Gunmetal is a a versatile, antique medium grey. They can be ordered and worn separately or together. We've secured enough fabric to make approximately 200 total units via this preorder.

We're offering both colors and both designs in every size via this preorder. You'll save off the retail price with our discount code. Once the items are delivered, you are covered by our standard 14-day return policy if you don't love them (but we're pretty sure that you will!)

Each piece is made from start to finish in Compton, California. They're ideal for cooler nights in Spring to Fall.. but soft enough to wear as a layering piece in the Winter months as well. The two eye-catching tones of Gunmetal and Raisin work brilliantly with the shirts, denim, chinos, and trousers that you already own. Place your preorder now, and bless your wardrobe with something truly special in about a month.

12oz 100% Cotton Japanese Sashiko Pique

Also known as our classic pure cotton Sashiko cloth is woven in Japan for use in martial arts uniforms. Known as Dogi (cloth of the way), this fabric has a thick pique weave with well-defined "rice gain" structure. This technique offers three benefits: it allows natural stretch and flexing with movement, it absorbs moisture and stays away from your skin and it gains exceptional tensile strength.. far above a comparable twill weave. Given the large texture of the weave, you can expect a particularly nice patina with wear.

Pumice Wash

Each Sashiko Doyle begins its journey as a stiff, neutral white garment. It's plunged into an organic reactive dye bath for about 48 hours.. allowing the pigment to entirely soak through its distinctive "rice grain" texture. After drying, its both machine tumbled and hand-abraded with natural pumice stones.. yielding a three-dimensional fading and ombre effect throughout the garment. The soft drape and comfort of this final product cannot be overstated.. it wears almost like a thick knit sweater! And given the exceptional strength of Sashiko, your garment will deliver years of faithful wear even after this intensive treatment.

The Doyle Jacket

The Doyle is our loving homage to the classic French work jacket. Two open patch pockets sit at the hip. They're doubled against the body, allowing your hands to use them both from the side and from the top. Hidden brass rivets and heavy stitched bar tacks sit at the corners to reinforce them against heavy use. A single exterior pocket and a long interior pocket sit on either sides of the chest. The sleeves close with a functional single cuff, and can be unbuttoned and pushed up your forearms. The rear is single vented and the soft top point collar cuts a rakish profile whether open or closed. The buttons are natural corozo nut, dyed a gorgeous brandy tone.
