The stunning jacket before you was produced in collaboration with our good friends at Yellow Hook Accessories & Apparel. We go way back with them to our OG days in Brooklyn, and it was fitting to use a bold fabric with a great story.
Dubbed "Red Dawn," this is a deadstock 100% cotton denim from the famed Cone Mills White Oak plant. The fabric bolt was labeled as 2013 production, and it offers both a rare deep red color and a gorgeous slubby weave. As the White Oak plant is sadly slated to close by the end of 2017, this is also a real piece of American history. We produced 24 units.. with 12 available for sale through us, and 12 through Yellow Hook. Once they're gone, this gorgeous denim will not return. The denim is raw and unwashed.. just waiting for you to break it in and age it yourself.
The Doyle is our loving homage to the classic French work jacket. Starting with the minimal and utilitarian shape of the original garment, we upgraded the fit, construction, and fabric to create a versatile piece that can be worn as an all-day smart casual garment. Worn as outerwear or in lieu of a sportcoat, this matches brilliantly to chinos, denim, and trousers.
The Doyle's fit and chest/shoulder ratio is based off the proportions of in-house shirting and Vittorio sportcoats. The typical chore jacket is boxy, but the Doyle is sharply tailored and designed for an athletic physique. Those who own other Epaulet garments will find that the fit on this is complimentary and consistent with our designs.
Two open patch pockets sit at the hip. They're doubled against the body, allowing your hands to use them both from the side and from the top. Hidden brass rivets and heavy stitched bar tacks sit at the corners to reinforce them against heavy use. A single exterior pocket and a long interior pocket sit on either sides of the chest.
The sleeves close with a functional single cuff, and can be unbuttoned and pushed up your forearms. The rear is single vented and the soft top point collar cuts a rakish profile whether open or closed. The buttons are natural corozo nut, dyed a gorgeous brandy tone.
Made in Los Angeles
Each Doyle is made by a handful of skilled operators at our Downtown Los Angeles facility. Every piece is cut and assembled by hand, and their proficiency is evident in the clean finishing and consistent stitching on each garment. These are among the finest and most meticulously made garments in the United States.
