The Combat Boot is a sleek and modern take on a classic military style. It has a comfortable eight-eyelet height and a minimal plain-toe design. A Swiss-made RiRi zipper sits at the in-step, allowing the boot to be taken on and off without unlacing the front. This model is made up in black Couro Cromo steerhide and matched to a monochrome black sole. Its solid brass eyelets are finished with a dark gunmetal grey tone.
Our in-house last offers a nicely rounded toe, a mid-length vamp, and a sleek toe box. Produced at our Portuguese factory, each pair is made with the same genuine blake stitch construction. It breaks in quickly and we believe that you'll find them to be some of the most comfortable boots that you have ever worn.
Underneath the classic lines of its upper, the Combat Boot's sole is a brilliant combination of rubber and leather. The minimally monochrome mid-sole and welt are stitched through to a sturdy St. Moritz front and heel rubber lug panel. This sole delivers great traction, long wear, and a comfortable ride. The lugs are fairly low-profile, delivering the a slim profile from the side.
Couro Cromo means "Chrome Leather" in Portuguese. Starting with a thick, sturdy cowhide, the leather is tanned over the course of a month. This tanning process imparts a high oil and wax content to the skin, giving it a supple hand and a rich aniline finish. It breaks in quickly, maintains an effortless sheen, and gains exceptional character with age. True the combat boot's tough-wearing heritage, this leather will resist water stains and cleanup with minimal effort.
Our signature leather-wrapped insole provides excellent arch support and can be removed for orthotics or inserts. A kidskin glove leather full liner extends throughout the interior. Both whole and half sizes are available for a precise fit. When needed, this shoe can be resoled by a trusted cobbler.
The Epaulet Combat Boot Shoes run true to size. If you typically wear a 10D in dress shoes, then we recommend ordering a US10 in these. For a comparison to our dress shoes, this size would correspond to a 10D in the Alden Aberdeen last, a 9.5D in the Alden Barrie or Tru-Balance last, and a 9UK in most Carmina lasts. Many of our customers tend to wear the same size in these as they would in a Converse Jack Purcell or Vans Authentic, which can be a useful comparison for getting fitted locally.
For European customers looking at the EU size, we also recommend purchasing your typical size.
