Working with our Canadian friends at OSC Cross, we are thrilled to present our collaborative "Blackout" Down Parka. It is far and away the best heavyweight Winter coat that we have seen. And if your winters are cold and rough, then this piece can literally change your life. Our co-branded "Blackout" edition is a minimal concept with a black shell, black liner, black hardware, and no exterior logos. Production was limited to 36 units worldwide.
In short: it is unbelievably warm, completely waterproof, very comfortable, slim fit, machine washable, and guaranteed for life. Each piece is made from start to finish in Canada. It's rated to -25 degrees Celsius (-15 degrees Fahrenheit). It's stylish, timeless, and extremely practical. This thing is serious!
The outer shell is made of OSC Cross's proprietary C45 Legacy Fabric: cotton/nylon blended fabric with wind and water-resistant properties. This fabric is sealed with a waxed finish The "guts" of the jacket consist of extremely warm, high-density down fill. Premium Down Fill
All OSC Cross lightweight jackets and parkas are filled with a high-level proprietary blend of goose and duck down in accordance with Canadian standards. The down goes through a sanitizing process of being treated with an antibacterial agent to ensure the highest quality insulation is used in your garment. The fill power is a measure of the loft, or ‘fluff’ of the jacket, which is related to its insulating ability per weight. A higher fill power also enables the jacket to be compressed more easily. Thus a higher fill power means that the jacket will be lighter warmer than one of a lower fill power rating for the same weight. The measure of the quality of a garment is not restricted to Loft Power, but by other factors such as fabrication and construction of the garment.
About OSC Cross
OSC Cross was born from another company: Outdoor Survival Canada. After years of creating extreme winter down-wear, Outdoor Survival Canada turned their talents toward creating jackets with the same superior quality, but more appropriate for urban environments. This new line champions both fine tailoring and Canadian-made durability, benefiting from a history of nearly 30 years of experience. We absolutely adore these jackets and know you will as well.
Measurements & Sizing
Note: All measurements are shown in inches. "Chest" is measured from one armpit seam to the other. "Sleeves" is measured from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. "Shoulder" is measured from one shoulder seam to the other. "Length" is measured from the base of the rear collar to the bottom of the garment.
We recommend ordering your typical Epaulet size. The measurements look large, but note that this jacket has significant inside padding. The actual fit is smaller than the dimensions suggest. If you typically wear a Medium in Epaulet shirts, then a Medium in this jacket will allow you to comfortably wear a sweater or sportcoat underneath. If you're on the edge of a size (ex a Small is a bit too Small but you have room in a Medium), then you can most likely size down if you wish.
