Saphir Médaille d'Or
Saphir Pommadier Cream Shoe Polish, 75 ml.

The Saphir Médaille d'Or Pommadier Cream Shoe Polish is an all-natural cream polish made primarily of beeswax, turpentine, and shea butter, along with seven other nutrient waxes.  This product has twice the pigment concentration as usual polishes, including the Saphir Pate de Luxe, making it exceptional for restoring finishes, masking scuffs and achieving soft polishes.  A little goes a long way.

Which type of polish to use:
Choosing which type of shoe polish to use can be intimidating, we know. After all, you care about your shoes and want them to look their best, that’s why you’re looking into polish in the first place. While there is no direct equation for which leather takes which type of polish, the two types interact differently with leathers and will consequently produce a different effect.

Pâte de Luxe, or wax polish in general, sits on top of the leather more than it penetrates it. When buffed, the wax yields a high-gloss shine similar to a freshly waxed hardwood floor.  Pommadier, or cream polish in general, on the other hand, soaks deeper into the leather, transferring more pigment to the shoe and yielding a deeper, more matte shine.

In our opinion, Pommadier is best utilized to fill in scuffs and reinvigorate your shoes with color depth, while Pâte de Luxe is best utilized a finishing coat. Pâte de Luxe will provide a high-gloss shine wherever you see fit (e.g. the toe or heel), as well as add a protective barrier against the elements.

Rest assured, though, the entire Saphir Médaille d'Or line is safe for all of your leather goods (including chromexcel), and such guidelines are not absolutely strict. Not following them exactly won’t have any devastating effects on your shoes, and many have their own methods that are are different from ours. Ultimately, the matter boils down to personal preference and taste. It might take some experimenting to learn exactly what look you like best, but don’t worry, your shoes can take it!

In any case, we recommend all polishes be used in conjunction with Saphir Renovateur for the best results.
