GEORGE K. BALANCE PAYMENT : Alt Wien in Earth Chamois

$565.00

We're thrilled to have received your Ironsides in earth chamois! Once we receive your balance payment, we'll get these amazing boots shipped out!

Designed to be as tough as it sounds, the "Ironside" is ready for anything that you can throw at it. The upper is a thick oiled chamois leather from Horween of Chicago. This leather is reversed to its roughout side for easy wear and care. A touch of conditioner and a strong brush are generally all that's required for regular maintenance. This "Earth" color is technically a very dark brown, but it reads more like a charcoal out of the box. Over time, the color will lighten.

Originally created in the 1930's as a work boot, the Alden Indy Boot has gone largely unchanged for the better part of 80 years. They are simply some of the most comfortable and classic boots around, and as nice as they looks in these photos, they're a real masterpiece after several years of wear and tear.

Sizing

The "Tru-Balance" last runs approximately one half size big. Order one half size smaller than your typical dress shoe size. For instance, if you typically wear a size 10D, you should order a 9.5D.

About Alden

The Alden Shoe Company was founded in 1884 by Charles H. Alden in Middleborough, Massachusetts, and it remains in that same town to this day. Since its inception, the Alden Shoe Company has designed and manufactured classic gentleman's footwear that represents America's tradition of custom shoe-making at its finest. They have the well-earned reputation of being the best shoe manufacturer in the United States and one of the top shoemakers in the world.

In a consumer world that too often prizes promotion over product, you might think genuine craftsmanship and honest value have been lost forever. Alden stands as adamant proof of the contrary. We are honored to continue our partnership with these paragons of American manufacturing.

Recrafting

Alden shoes are Goodyear welted and handmade by union craftsmen. When you've worn out the sole, which will take a very long time, you can return them to Alden for a complete resoling and refurbishing. With proper care, by a competent cobbler or the factory itself, your Aldens will last you well over a decade.

Shipping

Our apologies, we cannot ship Alden shoes outside the United States and Canada.
