We are delighted to present the Epaulet Sport Trainer. This is our modern day re-interpretation of the athletic shoes issued to the West German army in the 1970s. We've retained the clean lines, slim shape, and minimal design of the original - but we've upgraded all of the materials to offer a truly high-end product. Produced at our Italian factory, Epaulet Sport Trainers perfectly compliment the casual side of our collection. And like all things Epaulet, they offer a phenomenal value for the price.
This particular model is a refined, all smooth leather variation of the Epaulet Sport Trainer. The antique pewter colorway is a smart, eye-catching medium grey. After the sneaker is assembled, each pair is individually burnished to give it a rich depth of tone. It's a wonderful complement to dark denim and khaki chinos.
The Epaulet Sport Trainer is hand-made in Italy using the most sumptuous full grain Italian calfskin we could source. The comfortable last is modeled after the original - with a slim profile, low toe box, and perfectly rounded toe cap. An Italian-made natural rubber gum sole provides great traction and a cushioned ride. Each trainer includes flat waxed laces, round braided cotton laces, and a travel shoe bag. Like the original, it has no external branding whatsoever. Both whole and half sizes are available for a precise fit.
Epaulet Sport Trainers run about a 1/2 size larger than normal. This is already reflected in our EU to US size conversion. If you typically wear a 10D in dress shoes, then we recommend ordering a US10/EU42.5. For a comparison to our dress shoes, this size would correspond to a 10D in the Alden Aberdeen last, a 9.5D in the Alden Barrie or Tru-Balance last, and a 9UK in most Carmina lasts.
For European customers looking only at the EU size, we recommend that you size down by 1/2. So if you typically wear an EU42, then we recommend ordering an EU41.5.
